dungeons & dragons

What is Dungeons & Dragons?
Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) is a collaborative role-playing game where kids embark on imaginary adventures in a fantasy world. Each participant creates a unique character, and together they make decisions, solve problems, face challenges, and learn to work as a team.

In each game, the group might set out to find a magical ring of power, search for an ancient book of secrets, battle monsters, or go on a secret mission to rescue the king. The possibilities are endless—and the adventure is created together.

At Warriors of Light School, we always bring a developmental layer into the game. We use the adventure not only for fun, but also as a tool for growth—helping kids develop skills and abilities that support them in real life.

what your child will learn

Emotional Expression

Through the game, children share their inner worlds, express feelings, and explore needs or desires that may not have space in everyday life. The game becomes a safe place for creative self-expression.

Social Skills

D&D teaches collaboration. Players practice making group decisions, listening to others, compromising, and supporting each other in order to succeed as a team.

Perspective-Taking

By playing roles of heroes who help, save, or protect others, children experience opportunities for “de-centered” actions—learning to step into someone else’s shoes and care for those around them.

Awareness

Children learn that their choices have consequences. They develop awareness of how their actions affect the environment, the group, and the unfolding story—building sensitivity to cause and effect in a social context.
